[Bucky's jaw tightens, another instinct he can't force down. He doesn't doubt the intention behind Sam's words or the degree of sentiment. Yet, he can't bring himself to believe they could be used to refer to him. They must refer to someone else, someone different. In another world, in another lifetime, maybe they could apply to him--- the him that didn't become a weapon--- but the him that's here and now? No. He doesn't deserve it, doesn't deserve to be anything more than a now-dull blade. There's no hope to become anything else, even if he were allowed to want something like that.
